So much like a car MOT it is important for you to maintain your electrical installation to ensure the safety, health and welfare for all persons using the building.
EICR FOR LANDLORDS
An EICR will provide:

Provide a full documented summary of the installation condition ensuring compliance with the current British Standards for electrical safety (BS7671 18th edition).
Provide a record of test results and observations in line with BS7671 and make various recommendations where improvement maybe necessary or beneficial to improve the safety of the installation.

Identify any damage, deterioration, defects and/or conditions which may give rise to danger along with observations for which improvement is recommended.
Determine, so far as is reasonably practicable, whether the installation is in a satisfactory condition for continued service.
